The Sugar Land Rotary Club is proud to work with local churches and charitable organizations, in partnership with our Rotary International District 5890, to collect and deliver thousands of books to schools throughout Sugar Land.

First Responder Appreciation
We are very appreciative of our first responders for keeping our communities safe. We thank the hard work that firefighters and policeman put in, often putting their lives in danger to protect others. Each year we arrange for a Policeman of the Year and Firefighter of the Year presentation to give special recognition to those that go above and beyond the call of duty.
Please contact Darla Fanta to get involved!
Note: this year we are also providing lunch and some masks as a special thank-you to our healthcare workers on the front line. We are raising funds for this, and are working with doctors and nurses, some of which are in our club, to understand their needs and offer support where we can.
Please contact Margie Connolly to help organize these important events!
Veterans Appreciation
Rotary Clubs nationwide are known to support our veterans. As Rotarians we are proud of our veterans, and each year we organize an event or have a special meeting to show our appreciation.
Please contact Todd Breton to help find more ways to support and thank our veterans.
Santa's Exchange
One of the Sugar Land Rotary Club traditions is to help raise funds and then support in person this wonderful day of sharing gifts with children in need.
Please contact Rick Smith or Scott Finley to help organize and then experience this wonderful event!
Fundraising
The Sugar Land Rotary Club is an essential part of the community support network in Sugar Land. A major part of our responsibility is to raise funds to support well over a dozen local charities, ranging from BBBS to Rise Against Hunger. Our club also supports scholarships, RYLA (Rotary Youth Exchange Program), International Projects with local Rotary Clubs in those countries, and many other programs.
Our main fundraiser has been the Fall Classic dinner and silent auction, but this is different now due to COVID-19. We also have a 5K run to raise funds. In 2021 we will have a golf tournament.
But we need help! We need BIG ideas, and people willing to help out. Please contact Dean Clark to get involved!
The Fight to Eradicate Polio
One of the main global initiatives for Rotary International is the fight against polio. Polio affects children, and at its peak in the US in 1952 over 3,000 children died in one year. Once a vaccine was available, RI made it a global challenge to eradicate it. Rotarians have invested countless volunteer hours to protect more than 2.5 billion children in 122 countries, and have raised nearly $2 billion in this effort.
There are over 1 million Rotarians around the world, and the Rotary Foundation, to which each of us donates at least $100 per year, has as a key directive to eradicate polio. Join us in this effort.
The Rotary Foundation also supports programs directed at fighting human trafficking and other important issues we are all facing. Please see the videos on the main page, and then join us in our weekly meetings.
