I’m excited to officially kick off this new Rotary year with all of you! Our theme is Ignite—and together, we’re going to light up our service, fellowship, and impact.

July is Child & Maternal Health month for Rotary International. Following this, you will notice we have made an effort to have speakers related to this subject.

Two things to be on the lookout for:

• Make sure to wear your Houston Texans gear to our meeting this week to show support for our speaker, Marc Vandermeer, the Voice of the Houston Texans.
• We will be putting together efforts to help those affected by the floods in central Texas. We will have more information in the coming days on how we can help.

Congratulations on being named Rotarian of the Month—your dedication and service truly inspire us all!

This month’s honoree is someone whose quiet leadership and dedication consistently lift the club’s work and spirit. With a career that spanned decades in the technology sector—including key roles at IBM and later as Director of Customer Experience at BMC Software—he brought strategic thinking and a steady presence to every challenge.

After earning both a BBA and an MBA in Marketing Research from Texas A&M University, he carved out a successful path in enterprise IT. But his contributions didn’t stop with retirement. He shifted his focus to service—lending his time, energy, and experience to Rotary and the broader community.

He leads with humility, speaks with purpose, and shows up without fail. Outside of Rotary, he takes the most pride in being a devoted father of 6 and grandfather of 15
